Shift Manager
Average Pay Range: $19–$23/hour
Role & Expectations:
Shift Managers are “working managers” who both perform driver duties and manage a team during their shift. They ensure route efficiency, proper documentation, customer satisfaction, and team coordination. Shift Managers assign tasks, train new drivers, resolve disputes, support performance targets, report incidents, and maintain fleet safety protocols.
Additional Note: The moving industry is seasonal, with peak demand largely between late spring and summer months; therefore, workload and hours fluctuate throughout the year and a consistent 40-hour workweek cannot be guaranteed.
Expectations:
▪︎ Ensure on-time deliveries and accurate documentation
▪︎ Assign and oversee team tasks for the shift
▪︎ Train, mentor, and support drivers
▪︎ Solve route, vehicle, and customer issues in real time
▪︎ Report operational data to senior management
